This is a chimney of the Jagyeongjeon Hall, which is a place for the king’s mother. It has ten smoke vents and was designated as a national treasure. It was engraved and baked separately and pieced together to build the whole column.

이것은 왕대비의 전각인 자경전의 굴뚝입니다. 이 굴뚝은 열 개의 연가로 이루어져 있으며 보물로 지정되었습니다. 그것은 각각 따로 새겨지고 구워져서 기둥 전체를 만들기 위해 함께 조각되었습니다.

And ten longevity symbols (the sun, mountains, water, rocks, pine trees, clouds, the bulaocao, the tortoise, the crane, and deer) were decorated. And two cranes with herbs of eternal youth symbolize longevity. Lotus and grapes mean fertility so they are decorated with ten longevity symbols.

그리고 해, 산, 물, 돌, 소나무, 구름, 불로초, 거북, 학, 사슴 같은 십장생 문양으로 장식되어 있습니다. 그리고 불로초를 문 두 마리의 학은 장수를 상징합니다. 연꽃과 포도는 번영을 상징하기 때문에 십장생과 함께 장식되었습니다.

On the top center, the scary-looking face of an imaginary animal means protection from an evil spirit. And on the bottom, there are two imaginary animals who it was believed to eat fire and contain the fire.

위쪽 가운데에 있는 상상의 동물의 무서운 얼굴은 악령으로부터 보호를 의미합니다. 그리고 아래 쪽에는 불을 먹고 불을 억제한다고 믿어지는 두 마리의 상상의 동물이 있습니다.

To the side, the bat was designed to bring good fortune because the Chinese character for a bat and fortune sounds very similar.

옆에는 박쥐를 뜻하는 복(蝠)과 운을 뜻하는 복(福)의 한자가 비슷하게 발음되어서 좋은 운을 가져다준다는 박쥐가 디자인되어 있습니다.
